Olympiacos announced on Tuesday the return of David Carmo, 26, marking his third stint with the Greek club. Following loan spells from FC Porto in 2023/2024 and Nottingham Forest in 2024/2025, Carmo now signs a permanent deal, committing to the club until 2029.
The Angolan-Portuguese defender spent last season with Oviedo in La Liga, featuring in 22 matches. “I’m incredibly excited. As soon as the season ended, I was thrilled by the prospect of returning. I’m mentally prepared after a challenging season, but I’ve grown and I’m ready to repay the trust placed in me by the club and the fans,” the center-back stated in an interview with the club’s media channels.
FC Porto, who sold David Carmo to Nottingham two years ago for €11 million, had secured a 10 percent sell-on clause for any future profit. However, the defender's current move to Greece is reportedly for a lower fee—local media suggests around €9 million—meaning the Dragons are unlikely to receive any further payment.
