Portuguese tennis player Nuno Borges was eliminated from the Wimbledon doubles competition on Thursday, having already exited the singles draw on Wednesday against world number one Jannik Sinner of Italy.
Partnering with Colombia's Nicolás Barrientos, Borges, ranked 48th in the ATP, was unable to overcome the American duo of Robert Cash and James Tracy, falling in the first round of the British major, Wimbledon, with a 6-3, 6-4 scoreline.
With Nuno Borges' departure, Portuguese representation at the season's third Grand Slam now rests solely with Francisco Cabral, who competes in the doubles draw alongside Austrian Lucas Miedler. Jaime Faria's singles journey on the grass also concluded this afternoon, as he was defeated by Zizou Bergs in the second round.
