MFM FC ensured that they took the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title chase to the last matchday with a 2-0 home win over Nasarawa United in Matchday 27 while leaders Plateau United lost 1-0 away to Wikki Tourist.
Stanley Okorom and Tchato Giscard scored for MFM FC in the 13th and 44th minute respectively to get the win which puts them just one point behind leaders Plateau United ahead of the last day.
Chinedu Onyelonu netted in the 62nd minute to give Wikki Tourist the win which means that Plateau United must win their final game of the season which is at home.
Wikki’s win takes them to 50 points but they are still in the relegation zone, 17th position.
Enyimba could not beat Enugu Rangers in the Oriental derby in Enugu managing a 1-1 draw which means their Champions League qualification dreams are over.
Ikechukwu Ibenegbu’s penalty put Enyimba in front while Chibuzor Madu equalised from the penalty spot with just three minutes to go.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars got a 1-0 win over 10-man Akwa United to improve their chances of avoiding relegation.
