Whistling wind and dancing trees

Flapping wings and tweeting beaks

A perfect dynamism of orderly creativity,

Just as it was meant to be.

Look a lil' to the vast blue sea,

Watch the swirling waves come, and then flee,

Shadows of celestial flourish on its face,

What more could be of better grace?

I saw those mammals feed their growing young.

I heard those birds sing their special songs.

I prayed their strength would never fall,

Till the bush burners cleared them all.

Mortal hands built vehicles and towers,

Feeding planet earth with black smoke showers,

Replacing our horses and trees that were,

With grilled meat and fuming char from burnt up

woods.

War against Humanity - by Humanity,

Was that what Chineke had planned?

The intimacy of our habitats, in bitter penury

As pollutant toxins immersed our lands.

No more yams and no more seeds.

The earth is hard and the soil, barren.

Hunger rose and famine roared,

Mother nature quivered into her cave.

The impatient stars and frowning moon,

Vexed at the endangered friends they had made.

Thundering quakes and furious tsunamis,

Craving nothing but crude justice.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The drums of war are beaten,

Armoured disasters and armed volcanoes,

The clouds weep, while the earth drowns.

Isn't it suicide that we so commit?
