League goes on breaks because of May 29 hand-over

The Nigeria Professional Football League will be going on break after nine rounds of mathces.

The break was on Tuesday, May 19 announced on the NPFL official webiste.

"NPFL going on break for compliance inspection and to allow Club managers familiarize with new Govt/Owner administration. Details later," the account tweeted.

The break comes after nine rounds of matches with Sunshine Stars of Akure on top with goal difference.

Gabros United and Wikki Tourists are second and third respectively though they are tied on the same point with leaders Sunshine Stars.

Defending champions, Kano Pillars are sixth with 15 points.

A resumption date has not been announced.
