2017/2018 NPFL season to kick off January 14

It's been off season in the NPFL following the conclusion of the 2016/2017 season which .

The Super Six tournament which serves as an annual opener to the NPFL will hold from Monday, December 11 to Thursday, December 17.

In the season’s calendar, there will be three midweek matches on match days 2, 4 and 5 while the mid-season break will be from April 30 to May 5.

There will be a long break from June 14 to July 15 because of the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will hold in Russia.

After the World Cup, the league will resume on July 18 with matchday 25 which will be the first of another three mid-week matches in the second stanza.

The other two mid-week fixtures will be on matchdays 27 and 29.

Before the resumption of the new season, the LMC have also announced that there will be the induction and orientation workshop for the four newly admitted NPFL Clubs on Thursday, December 14 and the LMC Pre- Annual General Meeting (AGM)/Consultative Meeting with NPFL participating Clubs on December 16.

There will also be draws for the new season, pre-season seminar and spot checking on Clubs compliance to licensing regulations, payment of players and officials salaries, the status of facilities, etc.

Clubs have until Friday, January 5, 2018 to submit Club Licensing documentation while the NFF Club Licensing Certificate will be handed to qualified clubs that meet the criteria for participation in the 2017/2018 NPFL Season.
