Bennett, 19, scored within 56 seconds before Johnny Gaudreau made it 2-0 inside five minutes, with the former hitting two more before the end of the first period.

The Flames continued their dominance, with Mason Raymond scoring Calgary's fifth in the second period as Bennett capped the big win inside the final 25 seconds.

Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller made 30 saves for his second shutout of the year.

Wayne Simmons and Mark Streit scored goals less than two minutes apart in the third period to help the Philadelphia Flyers seal a 3-2 win against the Boston Bruins.

The Flyers held a 1-0 lead going into the second period but trailed 2-1 heading into the third, before the quick double helped them secure a fourth consecutive win.

Elsewhere, the Columbus Blue Jackets held off a late Toronto Maple Leafs fightback for a 3-1 victory.

Goals in the first and second period had the Blue Jackets up 2-0 before Brad Boyes pulled it back to within one, but the away side held on with Brandon Dubinsky adding a third on the buzzer.

Meanwhile, the Anaheim Ducks scored three goals in the last five minutes to see off the Ottawa Senators 4-1.
