Ferran Torres has etched his name into the annals of Spanish football history. The Valencia-born forward scored the goal that secured the national team's second World Cup title, coming off the bench to convert a Nico Williams assist for the decisive strike against Argentina in the final.

His name now stands alongside that of Andrés Iniesta, and Barcelona decided to honor him. On Tuesday, street artist TvBoy painted a mural in the Gràcia neighborhood, near the Joanic metro station, depicting the Spanish forward kissing the World Cup trophy, adorned with its two stars.

However, this mural lasted only a few hours. On Tuesday night, several hooded individuals vandalized the artwork, defacing the image with the message: "Fuck Spain, we want a Catalan national team." These separatists showed no respect for Ferran's mural, a sentiment that did not sit well with most local residents, who felt that freedom of expression had been disregarded.

Various associations and political parties in Barcelona reacted to this act of vandalism, strongly condemning it and defending the support the national team received from the city during the World Cup.
