Parramatta began the game brilliantly, racing into an 8-0 lead inside the opening five minutes thanks to two tries from Manu Ma'u.

The visitors led 12-8 shortly after half-time, after Semi Radradra - who later sustained a knee injury - scored following Perrett's quickfire double had drawn the hosts level.

But Canterbury responded superbly, and ran away with it after the interval.

Rona and Morris both equalled Perrett's two-try haul, with Trent Hodkinson adding four of the six conversions.

Friday's other game saw Brisbane Broncos also notch their first win of the campaign, with a 10-2 victory at Cronulla Sharks.

The Broncos were well beaten by South Sydney Rabbitohs in their season opener, but bounced back at Remondis Stadium, despite going in at half-time 2-0 down thanks to a Michael Gordon penalty.

Corey Oates and Lachlan Maranta both scored after half-time to set up the win, Corey Parker adding the conversion after Oates' score.
