A pair of third-period goals saw the Tampa Bay Lightning claim a 2-0 victory against the Detroit Red Wings in game seven of their series on Wednesday.

Anton Stralman and Braydon Coburn struck in the third period as the Lightning completed a 4-3 series win to move into the Eastern Conference semi-finals in the Stanley Cup play-offs.

Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop made 31 saves to complete the shutout.

The Red Wings led the series three times, but they were eventually eliminated after the loss at the Amalie Arena.

The Lightning will face the Montreal Canadiens in the semi-finals, with the series to start at the Bell Centre on Friday.

Coburn opened the scoring three minutes, 58 seconds into the third period, taking a pass from Ryan Callahan before firing past Petr Mrazek.

Stralman scored an empty-netter with just over a minute remaining to seal the Lightning's win.
