Algeria sacked national team coach Milovan Rajevacon Tuesday, October 11 just after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Cameroon in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

After the sack, several reports suggest that the players were unhappy with Rajevac tactics, training, team selection and petitioned the AFF to sack him.

The AFF boss has however denied the reports, stating that ‘a communication problem’ led to the sack.

“I ask myself why the players have been accused; the players are not responsible for the exit of the coach Milovan Rajevac, ” the president said in an interview with – the national broadcaster of Algeria.

“There was a communication problem, and this is why he decided to leave.”

The AFF are searching for candidates to replace the Serbian coach before their away trip to Nigeria to face the Super Eagles on Saturday, November 12 in a World Cup qualifier.

Nigeria lead the group with three points, Algeria and Cameroon joint-second with a point each while Zambia are bottom with zero points.

The winner of the group automatically qualifies for the 2018 FIFA World Cup holding in Russia.
