The Choc City boss plans on dropping an EP (the first in his illustrious career) titled ''.

Details are still scant about M.I's new body of work but the rapper has revealed that he will be performing the new EP at the Lagos Theatre Festival. Also, there will be a secret listening session for fans.

This new EP is a deviation from M.I Abaga. The rapper has seven studio projects under his belt.

He has three solo albums, the classic '', commercially successful '', and his renaissance album ''. These three solo albums have largely reflected M.I's ambition to influence the mainstream scene with his music.

His mixtape trilogy, '' has catered to his more conservative fans who prefer the more lyrical side of Mr Incredible.

His seventh project, the group album '' was meant to herald the new beginning for the record label but it was more of an end to Chocolate City's expansionist dream.

'The Love E.P' therefore signals a new beginning for M.I at least in terms of projects. He is done with the Illegal Music trilogy and perhaps he is mulling on a new direction for his next album and is using this E.P as a sounding board sort of.

M.I has hinted that his EP is a restart button for him artistically. He posted a photo with the caption "It's humbling... tearing down everything to start again...but you must...for art...for truth"  on his Instagram account yesterday, Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

With the narrative of indigenous Nigerian rap music feeling like it is coming to an exhaustive end since choke-holding the industry since 2012, M.I seems to be ready to usher in a new wave not only for himself but for rap.
