According to Sky News, Bezos could join a syndicate led by Amit Bhatia, son-in-law of billionaire steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal. Fenway Sports Group (FSG), owners of the Anfield Road club, confirmed that Bhatia's group had approached them to discuss a potential investment in the club.

Bezos had previously considered acquiring NFL teams, the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders. However, neither of those transactions ultimately materialized.
News of Bhatia's interest in Liverpool FC emerged on the same day the 46-year-old British-Indian businessman stepped down from the board of Championship club Queens Park Rangers.
This concluded his 18-year tenure, with his stake transferred to majority owner Ruben Gnanalingam.
