French forwards Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé have set a new World Cup record, a feat untouched for 60 years.

This milestone was achieved during their Round of 16 clash against Sweden at the 2026 World Cup, when Mbappé scored from a Dembélé assist. This marked the sixth goal the duo has combined for in World Cup tournaments, making it the best record since such statistics began being tracked in 1966.
The previous record was held by two pairs, each with five joint goals: Poland's Andrzej Szarmach and Grzegorz Lato, and Germany's Miroslav Klose and Michael Ballack.
At the 2026 World Cup, Mbappé has already netted 6 goals, while Dembélé has contributed 4.
