Here is a breakdown of all you need to know as far as my top picks, stats and predictions go for this round of matches. 

Southampton vs Aston Villa: Can Villa find their form against the Saints

Separated by just a point, these two will look to deny the other all three points with a crucial win, but it is the hosts who seem better placed to bag the points.

The Saints are unbeaten in their last four matches across all competitions, winning two and drawing two while Villa have lost four of their last five matches with their only win in that the win at Old Trafford against Manchester United. 

This fixture produces goals, an average of over two goals in the last nine meetings between the two clubs. 

However, the last time both sides met it was the Villians who picked all three points with former captain Jack Grealish setting up Ross Barkley, who was on loan from Chelsea, for the winner. 

Tonight, the Villians will be without those two and will look to Ollie Watkins to hurt the Saints, who have the third best defense led by Ghana talented youngster Salisu in the country over the last eight matches in all competitions, with Chelsea and Manchester City the only teams to have conceded fewer goals.

Manchester United vs Manchester City: Which United team will show up against City?

The game of the game week sees the under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his Manchester United team welcome the not-so noisy neighbors City to Old Trafford for the Manchester derby.

It is a must-win match for both sides, United are looking to consolidate on their win over Tottenham the last time while City want to bounce back from the shock defeat to Crystal Palace at home.

But for the host, we never know which United will step on the Old Trafford pitch lunch time on Saturday. The Red Devils are in bad shape defensively and conceded five goals against another rival, Liverpool, the last time they played at home in the PL.

Ole’s men have conceded on average 2.6 goals in their last five matches across all competitions and in City, they face a team that knows where the post is.

However, this Ole team has beaten Guardiola in three of four meetings and have the attacking talents to once again hurt the Cityzens, who are favorites for this one.

It’s difficult to look beyond the Cityzens for this one as I doubt Ole and United can find the right shape and defensively discipline to keep City at bay.

Arsenal vs Watford: Emmanuel Dennis and Watford to hurt and halt the Gunners?

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr may have ignored the in-form Emmanuel Dennis for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers this month, but this Sunday, he could play a key role as the Hornets look to halt Arsenal’s incredible run at the Emirates.

The Gunners have found form under Mikel Arteta, winning seven of their last nine matches in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets.

For Watford, they looked a rejuvenated side from the one Liverpool thrashed them 5-0 as they bounced back against Everton away in some style with our very own Dennis scoring one and assisting three others in a 2-5 win 

Last weekend, however, the Hornets suffered their sixth defeat of the season in the PL when Southampton narrowly beat them 0-1.

This Sunday, they would hope for more away glory when they take on the Arsenal at the Emirates and will look to their pacey forwards led by Dennis to provide the necessary ammunition as they did on their last road trip.

Chelsea vs Burnley: The Blues to roll over Clarets

It will take a miracle for Burnley to cause Chelsea problems at the Bridge this weekend when they travel to face Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The Blues are indeed on a roll, winning six of their last seven matches in all competitions, keeping five cleans in the process. 

For Burnley, while they will be buoyed by the win over Brentford last weekend at Turf Moor, their first win of the season, Chelsea is coming just too soon and there is only one winner here.

West Ham vs Liverpool: Hammers need to watch out for Mo Salah

The Egyptian has been arguably the best player in the PL this season and will be looking to become the first player since Sergio Aguero in 2017 to score in six successive away matches. 

The Hammers defense led by Nigerian born Angelo Ogbonna will have their hands full against the League top scorers, Liverpool led by Mohamed Salah, who have been involved in 16 goals (10 goals and 6 assists) in his opening 10 matches.  

This fixture is between two of the league’s most in-form teams, separated by just two points on the table, but the Reds are favorites given their superior head-to-head record.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have won all but one of the last nine meetings between the two and I expect that to remain the same after Sunday.
