Football legend says hi to Pulse
Portuguese football legend
Figo was in attendance during the second day of this year’s Web Summit- a technology conference held annually since 2009.
The football legend took out of his schedule at the summit to talk Pulse at the event.
“Hi Pulse,” he said to the camera.
Figo was at the Web Summit to introduce his Dream Football app.
Dream Football is basically a LinkedIn for young footballers where they can upload videos for the media and scouts to discover them.
The digital platform will give aspiring footballers worldwide the chance to be noticed, the one-time World Footballer of the Year said.
"The idea (of the app) is that no talent will be wasted, to have equal opportunities in football," Figo told Xinhua at the Europe's largest technology conference.
"The idea enables you, with the help of a friend or family member, to film a 2-minute video, edit it, and then upload it to the digital platform,
"Then, depending on the views you have you are analyzed by professionals and then by me, before the info about that talent is sent to our partners."
The 44-year-old believes the platform will bring great value to aspiring footballers in Africa.
Figo launched the app at Web Summit in partnership with Sony Mobile Communications.
