The long awaited announcement of who the new coach of South Africa will be shall be put to an end on July 26 when the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the South African Football Association (SAFA) will converge to agree who will lead the Bafana Bafana into the AFCON 2015 qualifiers.
SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble revealed this in a statement when he said:
Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup coach Stephen Keshi has been strongly linked to the position vacated by Gordon Igesund for months now, however, his resume has to speak more quality than quantity to that of rival prospects; former Bafana coachCarlos Queiroz and Junior Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba
The appointment (if he is selected) will make him South Africa’s 16 coach in 22 years, making SAFA the football house with the highest number of appointed coaches within the given time.
