Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn has confirmed her relationship with fellow skier Matthieu Bailet, sharing a series of romantic photos on social media from their vacation.
The 41-year-old athlete posted a collection of images making the relationship official. “Time for a summer recap…” Vonn captioned the post. The photographs show the couple kissing in a pool, embracing on a rock by the sea, and relaxing in a hammock over the water.
Vonn appears to be in good form following her severe crash at the Winter Olympics in Milan this past February.
During the women's downhill event, Vonn, who was already dealing with a torn knee ligament, lost control just seconds into her run, resulting in a complex fracture to her left leg. The injury was so severe it caused multiple fractures, including damage to her tibia and adjacent structures, requiring several surgeries in Italy and upon her return to the US.
This marks Vonn's first public relationship since her split from Diego Osorio in 2025. Rumors of a potential romance with the 30-year-old Bailet had been circulating since May, when the two were spotted together in New York, where the athlete planned to attend the Met Gala without crutches. At the time, Vonn and Bailet were seen shopping in SoHo, riding the subway, and posing backstage at “The Outsiders” musical on May 10.
Following her accident, Vonn reflected on the challenges of maintaining a relationship with non-athletes, given the pressures of her career. “It’s hard to have a thick enough skin to not fight everyone who wants to tell you what to do, or how to do it, or tell you that you should have done something differently, when maybe there are five people in the world who even understand the pressure I was under,” she confessed.
Now recovering from her injury and using crutches, Vonn expressed her desire for a summer vacation to disconnect. “The plane ticket is bought!” she stated. “I want to have a good summer and I need to disconnect from everything. I also feel that, in the next six weeks, I’ll be at a point where I can start living normally… I have some things planned. And I’m really looking forward to it,” the athlete concluded.
