Facebook has launched a spinoff age-based app called Lifestage that is designed just for users under the age of 21.
The app is very much like Snapchat and there is a lot of video stuff going on - to complete your profile you need to record a certain set of videos.
Before you start thinking this is just a dumbed down version of Facebook itself, it's not. It differs a lot from traditional Facebook services.
The new app is also tethered to schools so your school cannot be accessed until at least 20 people from your school sign up for the app.
Lifestage was developed by 19-year old Michael Sayman who has been with Facebook since he got out of high school.
Sayman has already developed lots of designing and gaming apps before Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg gave the nod for Lifestage, one of which is a photo app known as 4snaps.
Sayman says he spent two years developing an app that could appeal to people his age - one they would actually want to use.
He says he wanted to recreate the local feeling Facebook had when it launched in American universities back in 2004.
Tech insiders have described the app as Facebook's latest attempt to appeal to teenagers and steal more market share from Snapchat (like the Instagram Stories stunt is not enough).
Whether this will work is another story entirely. We wait to see.
