Liam Rosenior has been appointed the new head coach of French football club FC Paris. The Englishman has signed a two-year contract with last season's Ligue 1 newcomers.

For the 41-year-old Rosenior, this marks his third team in a year. He began the season in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg before coaching Chelsea in his native England. However, his tenure on the Blues' bench lasted less than four months.

"At 41, he possesses ample experience at the highest level. He has quickly established himself as one of the most promising coaches of his generation," AFP quoted the club's statement.

The Arnault family, owners of the club that finished 11th in the French top flight last season, also expressed their delight at Rosenior's appointment. "My family and I are thrilled to welcome Liam to our club and to see him back in our league here in France. I have always been impressed by his playing philosophy and what he has built with his teams, which often feature young players," said Antoine Arnault following the signing.

He replaces Antoine Kombouaré as head coach, who joined the club in February and notably secured victories over AS Monaco and city rivals Paris Saint-Germain.
