News agencies had earlier reported that Lekan Shonde allegedly beat Ronke to death after discovering that she was having an affair with her boss identified as Kayode.

Shonde's alleged violent history against Ronke, put forward by her sister, Bolatito, almost made it certain that the deceased died from domestic violence.

The accused, Lekan Shonde, made the decision to surrender himself to the police based on persuasion from close friends.

He however maintained his innocence concerning the accusation that he killed his late wife, stating that he returned home to find her lying face down.
