After his parents' lawyers worked out a settlement allowing them to auction six items of Kobe's memorabilia totaling $500,000 in 2013, his parents issued an apology to the former LA Lakers star.

“We regret our actions and statements related to the Kobe Bryant auction memorabilia,” the parents said.

“We apologize for any misunderstanding and unintended pain we may have caused our son and appreciate the financial support that he has provided to us over the years.”

Kobe also has two sister who he reveals are comfortable on their own and does not need his assistance.

The 37 first fell out with his parents and sisters over his choice to marry is wife, Vanessa in 2001.

The wedding was not attended by Bryant's parents and his two sisters who had problems with him marrying so young, especially to a woman who was not African-American.

Kobe didn’t speak to his parents for two years but the disagreements ended with the birth of his first daughter.
