A lot of changes are expected in the City squad for next season ahead of Guardiola’s arrival, but James Iheanacho is confident his son will continue to shine under the new coach.

“He has done well whenever he has been given opportunities this season and I am sure the new coach will want to work with him.”

Although the 19-year-old is looking forward to working with City’s new coach, he is still sad with the departure of Manuel Pellegrini who gave him a chance in the first team.

“I am not quite happy that he is going, but this is the football world and anything can happen,” the Super Eagles forward told reporters.

“I just wish him good luck wherever he goes, and will be praying for him and hope to see the future.

“He is a special manager for me and has done great things in my life – he brought me into the first team, introducing me to work with the squad right from pre-season last year.”
