"Federal Government please do something urgently about piracy”
Joshua Iginla, senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Abuja called on the Federal Government to help fight piracy in Nigeria as actors who are actively involved in making the country known globally have nothing to show for it due to piracy.
According to ‘Dailypost.ng,’ Iginla made the call during Sunday service, where he stated that actors are viewed as being rich, but in the real sense they are only famous because the fruits of acting is enjoyed by pirates.
“Our Nollywood actors and actresses are doing a lot for this country but they have no help when they are in difficulty or in need," Iginla lamented.
We celebrate our but we do not know what they go through. People think they have achieved a lot but they have nothing to show because of piracy.”
Nigeria is the third largest producer of films in the world and Nigeria’s image is being positively projected abroad by Nollywood artistes," he further stated.
I plead with the Federal Government to do something urgently about our great heroes in the Nollywood.”
This is about the number one sector that has given us Nigeria positive image abroad,’’ he said.
Relating the issue of piracy to the recent call for help by Nollywood veteran ‘Bruno Iwuoha’ who has health challenges and could not pay his bills.
According to him, even when the actor publicly called on well-meaning Nigerians to help him, he had nobody to come to his aid.
