"They are just a fashion brand", Venezia admin trolls Roma
A David Okereke-inspired Venezia to an impressive 3-2 win over the visitors at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Sunday.
Mattia Caldara gave the hosts the lead as early as the third minute but two quick-fire goals before half time from Eldor Shomuordov and Tammy Abraham gave Roma a 1-2 lead at the break.
In the second half, it was the home side who came out firing, Mattia Aramu coverted from the spot to draw Venezia level before Nigeria's Okereke kept his cool to slot pass the Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio for a 3-2 lead.
Okereke came close to adding to the score line on two different occasions, but was denied by a brilliant Patricio both times.
Venezia held on for their first win over Roma in over two decades and third win of the season, before taking to their social media to mock Mourinho and his team, who they referred to as a 'fashion brand'.
"They’re just a fashion brand," the club posted on the club's official English account.
Okereke lasted 89 minutes while his compatriot at the club, Tyronne Ebuehi came off the bench to put on an encouraging display as he played the final 14 minutes of the match.
