Black Stars forward on the verge of joining Aston Villa

Black Stars of Ghana forward Jordan Ayew is reportedly on the verge of joining English Premier League side Aston Villa.

The Midland club according to have opened talks with Ligue 1 club over the £8m transfer of the Ghana international.

The 23-year-old is expected in Birmingham on today to complete his medicals ahead of the move.

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood is in the market to bolster his squad after losing two key component of his side that reached the FA Cup final last season.

Captain Fabien Delph last Manchester City while striker Christian Benteke has joined Liverpool.

Sherwood wants Ayew to replace Delph while the club is also after Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor to replace Benteke.

Manchester United forward Ashley Young is on the radar but that depends on his contract talks at Old Trafford.

Ayew now looks likely to follow his brother Andre, undefinedSwansea, to the Premier League.
