Ogu was in the Super Eagles squad for their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria which they won 3-1 in Uyo on Saturday, November, 12.

That was the midfielder’s first call-up under new Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr.
The 28-year-old took to his Twitter to praise Rohr and insist that the Super Eagles under the German coach will rule the world.
“So I just thought about my first training under our present coach in the Super Eagles and all I can say to the @thenff is a big Weldone,” the Hapoel Be'er Sheva midfielder wrote.
“The way the coaching staffs handled our training sessions was Top knowing full well that players just hit the camp after a long flight.
“Then the discipline now is also TOP. All I can say is a big Weldone to the captains @mikel_john_obi , @OnaziOgenyi , @7Myca .
“From the first training ,you can tell we have wonderful coaching staffs in the Super Eagles. Our media man @Toyin_Ibitoye .Weldone sir.

The Super Eagles will next face Cameroon in August 2017 in a double header for the World Cup qualifiers.
