Ogu had his Super Eagles debut under late Stephen Keshi in March 2013 in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kenya.
The 28-year-old was last invited to the Super Eagles under Keshi in their first match of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Chad in Kaduna.
The Hapoel Be'er Sheva midfielder has however refuted any claims that he has been ignored of recent because he plays professionally in Israel.
“Nigeria is blessed with talents and there are players who are better than me,” he told Pulse TV in an interview.

“I’m not really focused on who’s better or the league we play in; I just want to get better as a player.
I want to play for my country,” he also added.
