F1 star splits with wife after just one year

One star Jenson Button has separated from his wife Jessica Michibata after just one year in marriage.

The Formula One driver, 35, and the fashion model, 31, first met in 2008 in a hotel bar in Tokyo and began dating eight months later.

The couple wedded in December 2014 after five years of dating.

A spokesman for the McLaren driver said pressures of their job and the distance it brings has caused them to ‘separate amicably’.

"Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no-one else involved," a spokesman for the former World Champion said.

Underwear model Jessica is set to get a part of Jenson's estimated £35m fortune as it is reported there was no prenuptial agreement set in place.

"Jenson and Jessica did not have any financial arrangement before their marriage," a UK Sun source said.

"There are ongoing discussions between them about money, but it's too early to say how it will pan out."
