This will be the second time Dorsey will be holding the top position at the social media giant. He had been fired as CEO back in 2008.

According to a company filing and a Twitter announcement, Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter will move on from being the company’s interim CEO, a position he took when former CEO Dick Costolo resigned in June, to take up a permanent position as the company’s CEO.

This will be the second time Dorsey will be holding the top position at the social media giant. He had been fired as CEO back in 2008, after which he went on to set up a mobile payments company, Square, which is now valued at $6 billion.
