Microsoft sends gifts to Muslim student who was arrested

 
 
The tech giant has now showed their support by gifting Ahmed range of gadgets that include a Surface Pro 3, a Microsoft Band and a 3-D printer.

After US President Barack Obama and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg came in support of Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year old Muslim boy who was arrested for taking a clock to school, Microsoft has showered him with some tech goodies.

The tech giant has now showed their support by gifting Ahmed range of gadgets that include a Surface Pro 3, a Microsoft Band and a 3-D printer.

Alia Salem, the executive director of the Dallas Council on American-Islamic Relations, tweeted about it along with the picture of Ahmed next to these gifts.

Ahmad who is  an award-winning robotics inventor and tinkerer, said he decided to link a circuit board, power supply and a digital clock display together inside a pencil case for his invention.

He brought the device to school hoping to impress some teachers, but the first one who saw the clock immediately told him "not to show any other teachers."

He was arrested after the teacher he showed his digital clock thought the invention looked similar to a bomb.

After the news of Ahmad’s arrest broke out and it was clear that clock was not a bomb the social media came in support of the prodigy.

#IStandWithAhmed started to trend on social networks as people from different religions showed their support for the boy.
