Spain has made history as the first football team not only to lift the World Cup trophy after their triumph but also to receive special championship rings.

The awarding of such rings is a tradition typically reserved for champions of major American sports leagues like the NFL, NBA, and MLB. However, FIFA decided to elevate the football World Champion with this distinction for the first time ever. Immediately following Spain's victory in the 2026 World Cup final, FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the team's locker room, presenting each player with not only a miniature replica of the World Cup trophy but also a championship ring.

Only 2026 of these exclusive rings will be produced. Thirty of them are designated for the World Champions, while the remaining 1996 will be made available for fans to purchase. Crafted from 18-karat gold, each ring is estimated to be worth up to $150,000.
