The Industry Nite special edition held in honour of K1 De Ultimate took place last night, April 27 at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, and was a mix of several performances from artistes like BaseOne, Vector, 9ice, Shola Allison, Adekunle Gold, and Olawale (from Project Fame), Lanre Teriba a.k.a Atorise, among many others.

Several fans, media personalities and even HRH Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikate Land and some of his chiefs were present there. Other notable attendees include, Mr. Shina Peller, Sikiratu Sindodo, and Teju Baby Face, who co-hosted the show with Olisa Adibua, and a host of others.

Regardless of the numerous star appearances and nice musical performances though, the night was still essentially about King Ayinde Marshall, and his enduring class as one of the top top Fuji artistes in the land.

Pulse Nigeria was there to witness it live, and now we analyse the top five things that stood out about the celebrated Fuji idol at the event

K1 De Ultimate is not retiring

Yes - he confirmed it with his own mouth. He is not retiring, he is not even thinking about it. Citing the example of other top fuji artistes like Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Dauda Epo Akara, who both kept performing till the time of their deaths, he affirmed that he would keep going insofar as he still feels strong enough. He also cited the example of Ebenezer Obey, who, at 74, is still doing good music relentlessly. If anything at all, according to K1 De Ultimate, he's only just begun.

K1 De Ultimate knows he is a father figure and he acts it

Being in the industry for as long as he has, and actually staying on top of his game ever since, it is only normal that several people would look up to him as a role model. That fact is well known. What is impressive is the way Kwam1 actually revels in the role. It is a well documented fact that fuji musicians practically worship him. But on the night, it didn't matter that those present were 9ice, Vector, Olawale P-fame, Lanre Teriba, Adekunle Gold and Shola Allison. The king apparently does not discriminate, embracing all his proteges, whether they are into fuji music or not.

He is a disciplinarian

During a brief question and answer session, one of his band members spoke on how much of a disciplinarian the Veteran is, and the man himself showed just how true the band member's comment was.He had pleaded, just as he was about to begin his performance, that no one should come upstage to spray him money, but of course the essence of his music was too strong, and before 20 minutes into the performance, people had become intoxicated, jumped on their feet, rocking to the music, and of course, they began spraying money.K1 De Ultimate stopped the music, demanded decorum, and that everyone had their seats before he restarted the performance. "Hey, Mr. Man, please sit down. Sit down, please," he said in a firm voice to some persons who wouldn't budge. Of course, they did as he said.

He has another album coming soon

His newest effort, "Let The Music Flow" is ready, and will be in the market soon. There was a sampling of some tracks from the forthcoming album at the event, and from the sound of it, fans of King Ayinde Marshal have one thing to excitedly look forward to.

And of course, it goes without saying that the living legend has some of the most loyal followers in the country. If there were traces of doubt about that, last night's event must have done quite a lot to dispel them.
