There are now over 146 million active phone lines
The amount of telecommunications subscribers has been steadily increasing over the past few months.

According to the Monthly Subscriber Data report released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Sunday, the number of active telecommunications users in Nigeria has increased to more than 146 million for the month of May.

This figure had a 1 million from the month of April. In April, the NCC reported a 145.4 million subscriber base for Nigerian network operators, with MTN controlling a major chunk of the gross figure, with almost 40% of the market share.
According to the report, CDMA operators had 1 million active users in May, and experienced a reduction of 241,024 subscribers.
