Tribunal orders re-run of governorship election

The election  petition tribunal sitting in Akwa Ibom has ordered the re-run of the state's governorship election.

Delivering its judgement on Wednesday, October 21, the tribunal said there were discrepancies during the April 11 poll.

It ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to run fresh election in 18 local government areas out of the 31 LGs in the state.
