Cameroon national team coach must beat Super Eagles or lose his job

The Cameroon national team coach Hugo Broos has been given an ultimatum by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria or lose his job.

After two draws (against Algeria and Zambia) the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a double header of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

With two consecutive draws, the FECAFOOT believe that two victories over the Super Eagles will bring their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.

After their 1-1 home draw on Saturday, November 12, Broos said the matches against the Super Eagles will be decisive and promise to prepare his team for the challenge.

“We had a very bad first half. In addition, the free kick, which caught the team off guard was as a result of lack of concentration,” Broos said after Saturday’s game.

“But it shows us what we are capable of, and what we still have to do to improve ourselves. The next few months would be for the AFCON tournament in Gabon.

“However, we know that the matches against Nigeria will be decisive. We will have to win to have another chance to go to the World Cup. We have eight months to prepare.”

The Super Eagles on Saturday beat Algeria 3-1at home to take control of Group B with six maximum points.

Cameroon are second with two points above Algeria and Zambia with a point each.
