The minister has distanced himself from any direct influence in the matter, confirming that it is the football federation that has the right to decide if Stephen Keshi deserves a new contract.

Prior the abated suspension on the country, Keshi who has been heavily linked with the coaching role at the South African national team technical staff demanded new contract terms which included a car, a house and double the salary his initial contract was worth (10 Million).

The NFF had proposed a 7 Million Naira monthly pay package which was not negotiated between the two parties.

South Africa Football Association (SAFA) will name the new coach of the Bafana Bafana come July 26 and the two time Nations Cup winner is highly tipped to get the job ahead of former Portugal and South Africa coach Carlos Queiroz and the South African Male under-20 team coachShakes Mashaba who are also potentials for the job.
