Gor Mahia Midfielder Morrison Rushed to Hospital After Morning Accident
Record FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia have been visited again by misfortune, with yet another key player involved in a road accident just days ahead of the Mashemeji Derby.
Midfield dynamo Enock Morrison became the latest victim of the terrifying streak of bad luck hitting the club, leaving fans and management on edge as preparations for the crucial December 7 showdown against AFC Leopards take a hit.
Morrison, who joined Gor Mahia in 2024, has swiftly become an instrumental figure for the side from the middle of the park.
The Ghanaian international commanding presence and technical ability have earned a lot of plaudits from the fans for his consistent displays, which has even earned him the affectionate nickname ‘Onyango’ among the Green Army faithful.
However, anxiety gripped the club on Tuesday morning when news broke that the Ghanaian import was involved in a car crash while heading to the training ground.
Reports indicate that immediate medical checks, including X-rays, have confirmed he is in stable condition and did not sustain any major injuries that would threaten his long-term career. The club moved quickly to quell rumors spreading on social media, issuing an official update on his status.
“Midfielder Enock Morrisson sustained a calf injury in an accident en-route to training; medical update is positive, no fractures, he is able to walk and has been discharged. Wishing him a speedy recovery,” the club wrote in statement.

The accident comes just days after another accident involving team members on Friday morning, November 28, 2025, after four of their first-team players were involved in a frightening road accident.
A Week of Road Horrors
The incident occurred along the busy Outering Road as the group made their way to the team’s scheduled training session, disrupting the club's routine just days before their biggest match of the season.
The technical bench was forced to alter their training plans, prioritizing the mental well-being of the players over tactical drills in the immediate aftermath of the Friday scare.
The players involved—midfielders Austin Odhiambo and Fidel Origa, defender Joshua Onyango, and forward Felix Oluoch—were travelling together in a private vehicle when the mishap took place. The incident left the quartet shaken, though they were fortunate to escape with their lives.
The quartet sustained minor injuries during the crash and they were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency assessment, where medical professionals treated them and cleared them of any serious or life-threatening internal complications.
Derby Preparations in Disarray
Morrison has been a key figure for Gor Mahia this season and missing him will be a big blow for K’Ogallo who are looking to extend their lead at the top of the table.
His potential absence forces the coaching staff to rethink their midfield strategy against an AFC Leopards side that will be eager to capitalize on Gor Mahia's disrupted preparations.
The club is expected to give a comprehensive report on the player and his availability for the derby in due time.
This interruption serves as a significant blow to K’Ogalo’s preparations for the highly anticipated 98th Mashemeji Derby.
The team is currently building up to face their eternal rivals, AFC Leopards, on December 7, a match where form often goes out the window and mental fortitude decides the winner.
