Golden Eaglets ready for 'must win' game against Cote d’Ivoire
Nigeria's U-17 men's national team known as the Golden Eaglets have a semifinal fixture against the Junior Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
The Golden Eaglets take on Cote d’Ivoire in a 2022 West African Football Union (WAFU) age-grade tournament.
The fixture between the two sides will take place at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Ghana on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
Ahead of the clash against Cote d’Ivoire, Golden Eaglets boss Nduka Ugbade charged his team to play the game of their lives.

Nigeria vs Cote d’Ivoire
The Golden Eaglets started their campaign at the WAFU tournament with a 4-2 victory against the Black Starlets of Ghana.
In a message by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ugbade stated the Golden Eaglets should not waste the chance to secure a ticket to the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations (AFCON)
.He said, “The match against Cote d’Ivoire is of high importance to us. In fact, I have reminded the players that this one is the biggest match of their lives.
"They must win to secure a ticket to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, and from there to the U17 World Cup, and from there to several opportunities and possibilities.
“Whatever we have done here (beating Ghana and Togo) will not mean much if we don’t go all out and grab our ticket to the AFCON and to the Final. We will throw everything into the fray.”
After victory against the host country, the Golden Eaglets defeated Togo 3-1 to book a place in the semifinal.
Victory in the semifinal against the Junior Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire will see the Golden Eaglets pick a ticket to the 2023 U-17 AFCON in Algeria.
