2016 edition to hold in January 2017

This is the third time Abuja will be hosting the awards following the maiden edition in 2005 and 2015 edition.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced that the 2016 edition of GLO-CAF Awards will hold on Thursday, January 5, 2017.

CAF with major backing from Nigerian telecom company, Glo hold an annual ceremony where the African Player of the Year winner is announced.

The awards will also hold at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja which hosted the previous edition.

Accra, Lome, Lagos and Cairo are the other cities that have hosted the awards.

17 winners will be announced on the night from different categories which include African Player of The Year (Based in Africa), National Team of The Year, Club of The Year and Coach of The Year.
