We had more than 1500 applicants for the GE Lagos Garage training program.

We have invited the top 50 applicants to pitch to a panel on Friday, November 11 at 1pm at the GE Lagos Garage Space.

The panel will decide the final participants based on their thoughts on how likely they think the person is to start a scalable advanced manufacturing company.

Computer-aided design and advanced manufacturing manufacturing provides the foundation upon which, all other new technologies in the world today are built.

Goals of the 4-week program:

1. Educate participants on the breadth of topics that are important for 21st century (latest) design.

2. Develop candidate’s skills in team-work, communication, and creativity

3. Promote excellence in the practice of design within and across professions

4. Expose candidates to real-world design problems and bringing concepts to reality

5. Cultivate candidates ability to express, evoke and shape experience through design

6. Foster critical reflection on technology and the contexts that shape its use

7. Create a generation of designers who lead product development in large companies.

The goal of the program is to help Nigeria become a country with technically sound citizens, who design and manufacture state of the art products which will compete in the global marketplace.

A further goal is to reduce the number of imports and increase exports. GE is happy to be helping lead Nigeria’s manufacturing revolution.
