The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Anambra sector, has arrested 970 traffic offenders from January 1st to March 31, 2016.

970 traffic offenders have been arrested from January 1st to March 31, 2016, in Anambra state.

According to the state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr Sunday Ajayi, their offences included speed violation, overloading, driving against traffic, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving vehicles with expired tyres.

In January, 185 arrests were made, February had 418, while 367 were arrested in March.

After their arrests, the offenders were arraigned before mobile courts, where 42 were discharged.

The remaining, 928, were found guilty and were convicted.
