In a match lasting 1 hour and 49 minutes, Cabral, currently ranked 27th in the world in doubles, and Borges, 387th, were unable to overcome their opponents, who had entered the main draw as lucky losers. The final score was 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 11-9 in favor of the French duo, comprising Droguet (307th) and Jacquet (618th).

The Portuguese pair even led the final set, holding an 8-5 advantage in the match tie-break, but ultimately faltered in the decisive moments.

In the final, Titouan Droguet and Kyrian Jacquet will now face the second seeds, Brazilians Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos. The South American duo secured their spot in the championship match on Friday by defeating Dutchmen Sander Arends (54th) and David Pel (57th) with scores of 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.

In addition to their 2022 title, the Portuguese tennis players had also reached the semifinals of the 2023 edition of the tournament. Francisco Cabral arrived at the Estoril Tennis Club after competing in the Bastad tournament final in Sweden on Sunday, where he partnered with Frenchman Theo Arribage, narrowly missing out on what would have been his seventh ATP title.
