The Montenegrin international and Budućnost player has decided to head to the NCAA next season, where he will have the opportunity to work with one of American college basketball's most renowned coaches, Rick Pitino. This move marks Jovanović's return to the United States, but this time through the college league, with a clear intention to further develop his game and catch the attention of NBA scouts.

Jovanović began his professional journey with Partizan, subsequently gaining experience through loan spells and playing in the G-League for the Ontario Clippers. He joined Budućnost in 2024, where he had a mixed season with some notable performances.

In the ABA League, he averaged 4.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in just under 15 minutes per game. His best outing came against Spartak, where he scored 15 points. He also saw minutes in the EuroCup, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds across 19 games.

St. John's had a solid NCAA season, reaching the Sweet Sixteen, and Jovanović will look to leverage his greatest asset – his long-range shooting – to take the next step in his career with his new team.
