To basketball fans and younger generations, he was also well known as the father of celebrated PAOK star Branislav Prelevic.
He spent his playing career with Crvena Zvezda from 1957 to 1962. Making his debut on April 17, 1957, in the Eternal Derby, he went on to register 89 appearances and score 255 points across five seasons in the red-and-white jersey.
After retiring as a player, he remained closely tied to the club. During the 1970s, he served as the first-team technical director when Crvena Zvezda clinched the national championship title in 1972 and reached the final of the Radivoj Korac Cup. Two years later, he was part of the setup that won the FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup—to this day the club's only continental trophy. Alongside his club duties, he was also a member of the Competition Commission of the Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia.
Prelevic was remarkably active off the court as well. Working as the assistant director of the Belgrade Fair, he provided crucial support to numerous sports organizations, and in the mid-1990s, he was involved in launching the sports weekly magazine As.
The date, time, and location of Miroslav Prelevic's funeral will be announced in due course.
