Tottenham midfielder James Maddison is eager to work under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, believing the Italian's attacking philosophy will perfectly suit his game as the club prepares for a fresh Premier League campaign. The 47-year-old De Zerbi took the helm in North London in March, following the dismissal of interim coach Igor Tudor. The specialist guided Tottenham to Premier League safety, with the club finishing 17th after a crucial victory over Everton on the final day.
"The manager is very clear. Our goals are to improve, play more aggressive football, be passionate, and take pride in playing for this club," the 29-year-old Maddison told reporters on Tuesday. The midfielder's last season was hampered by a knee injury. "We're still learning how we play, but we need to listen to the manager. His style is attacking, and that's quite exciting," James Maddison added.
