He teaches that the listening audience will appreciate your music when you define your message.

“The first step is what do I want to write and who am I writing for, once you’re able to get to that place where you underline the fundamental factor, then you have crossed the first bridge, if you do this last, there’s every tendency you’ll not do well.”

He also faults artistes prioritizing the right producers to work with over perfecting their songwriting process.
