“This doesn’t make sense,” Maki said as he stood before what was an unmarked grave a few weeks ago.“What does it say,” the other asked from the distance, too scared to come closer. Maki drew closer to get a better look of the tombstone. He noticed the soil was soft, like the grave had been dug recently.“Are you sure you didn’t tell anybody?” Maki asked his other friend.“I didn’t tell anyone! I swear!”“Then why are the others dead?” he asked, “Who else knows?” Maki fired.Maki knew Jude had a big mouth, but somehow, they had managed to keep him around this long. But then, there was no “they” anymore. Two of their friends, Deco and Ben, had died about a week ago after their car was involved in an accident. The car had burned, but strangely, their bodies were never found. The last of their crew, Jay, was the one whose grave he was standing over, the grave where they had put him in themselves. It had to be done, for the sake of their freedom, and worse, their lives. He deserved it. Every snitch deserved to be where he was.He bent over to read the tombstone.“Herein lies the body of a betrayed friend.” He snorted. At the bottom, there were more inscriptions. “Herein also lies the body of his betrayers…” what followed were the names of their two dead friends.“Jude! We are in deep shit!” he said as he staggered backwards spinning at the same time. He saw Jude kneeling there and looked at his face. There was no face. Where his face and head had been, there was a fountain –a bloody fountain gushing from his neck. With incredible skill, an invisible hand etched Jude’s name on the tombstone.
