Fitness with Fiz: How to eat clean and train like a beast
Eat clean, train like a beast
Hi guys. So it's been a while since my first post. Don't mind me, I was engaged in some back end 'waka'. Anyways, today we will be talking about how to eat clean and train like a beast. First of all as I said in my previous article, nutrition is a huge part of physical fitness and you have to get it right to achieve awesome results. The classes of foods recommended depend on the body type you fall into (if you really want to get in deep).
What works for an Ectomorph definitely won't work for a Mesomorph or an Endomorph. Either way you have to make sure that your food doesn't consist of high levels of bad cholesterol. Avoid frying your food and if you must fry I recommend olive oil. Grill your food, keep you carbs to a minimum especially if you want to lose weight. Your food portions should be 20% carbs, 30-40% protein and 20% fat.
For training (which is the fun part), you'll start off with a warm up. Preferably light jogs in place or a few minutes on the treadmill. Afterwards a few stretch exercises to loosen up your muscles (note: never start your workout without warming up and stretching).
For strength training you will want to keep your reps between 8 to 10 x 3 to 4 sets if you want to bulk up and 12 to 5 reps x 7 to 9 sets of you want to shred or lose weight. Now the weights must be heavy enough that you feel the burn in your last 4 reps but also light enough that you can go through the entire workout and fail at the last rep. A few extra reps will be good if you can mange it. Your form must be perfect to achieve optimum results and avoid injury.
For cardio I recommend the following exercises:
- Mountain climbers
- BurpeesÂ
- Plyometric push ups
- Vertical jumps
- Invisible jump rope
- Squat jump
- Frog jumps.Â
All ranging from 12-15 reps for 3-4 sets.
During the course of our time together I will be giving detailed descriptions and images of what these exercises look like.
