The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) is warning road users on the dangers associated with drunk driving.
FRSC issued this warning on it's Facebook page.
"Alcohol is depressant because it slows down the functions of the central nervous system. This means that normal brain function is delayed, and the person is unable to perform normally. Alcohol also affects a person’s information-processing skills known as cognitive skills and hand-eye coordination also referred to as psychomotor skills. Therefore, consuming alcohol before driving seriously increases the risk of car accidents, highway injuries, and vehicular deaths.SO DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. FRSC LOVES YOU."
Other than overspeeding, drunk driving is a major cause of accidents.
Anyone driving in a drunk state is dangerous to themselves, and other road users.
